Pear Orzo with Parmesan

Makes 3-1/2 Cups


  • 1 cup dried orzo
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can (15 ounces) Bartlett pears, drained and diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste

    Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. In large skillet heat butter and garlic. Add cooked pasta. Cook and stir until garlic is cooked and pasta is well coated. Stir in cream and pears; heat through. Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan and parsley; sprinkle with pepper.
